Nestled in the heart of Keene, New Hampshire, Otto’s Food and Drink stands out as a culinary gem that artfully balances sophisticated flavors with a warm, inviting atmosphere. This restaurant has quickly garnered acclaim for its fresh, seasonally inspired menu that caters to discerning palates without the lofty price tag often associated with fine dining. Otto’s offers a delightful journey through modern American cuisine with creative twists, making every visit a memorable experience.
The cuisine at Otto’s is a celebration of both classic comfort and inventive flair. Among the standout dishes that capture the essence of their kitchen is the impeccably golden, hand-battered haddock Fish N’ Chips. Served with hand-cut fries and a lively house-made remoulade or caper remoulade depending on the time of day, this dish delivers a perfect harmony of crisp textures and tangy, savory undertones. For those seeking heartier fare, the 8oz Petite Tenderloin grilled to perfection promises a tender, juicy bite enhanced by masterful seasoning. The Steak and Romesco Sandwich is another crowd-pleaser, layering sliced petite tenderloin with roasted garlic and tomato, roasted red pepper romesco sauce, gruyere cheese, and peppery arugula on a crusty French baguette — a truly comforting and flavorful creation.
Vegetarian guests will find the Mushroom Bolognese an enticing choice, featuring savory, slowly stewed mushrooms mixed with sweet potatoes, onions, and fresh linguine enveloped in a creamy basil-tomato sauce. Kids are thoughtfully catered to with options like Grilled or Roasted Chicken, Pasta Alfredo, and a Kids Fish and Chip, ensuring the younger diners can savor well-crafted meals that satisfy both taste and nutrition.
One of Otto’s remarkable strengths lies in its attention to detail, especially in accommodating dietary needs. As praised by diners with allergies, the menu clearly marks common allergens, ensuring a safe and enjoyable meal for everyone. This level of care extends to the exemplary service — friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff who enhance the overall experience without overshadowing the relaxed and intimate vibe of the restaurant.
Adding to the sensory delight are Otto’s well-crafted cocktails and an impressive beer selection that spans a wide range of tastes, from local brews to innovative concoctions. Whether you’re seated inside the tasteful and quietly elegant dining room or enjoying the ambiance under the stars at the sidewalk tables, the setting fosters connection and conversation. It’s no surprise that families, couples, and groups of friends alike have made Otto’s their go-to spot for both casual lunches and refined dinners.
Customer reviews consistently highlight the exceptional quality and creativity of Otto’s dishes. From perfectly cooked salmon resting on melt-in-your-mouth Brussels sprouts to the creamy house ragu made with duck, every dish bursts with layered flavors and thoughtful preparation. Diners rave about the fresh oysters, generous portions, and gluten-free dessert options, which reflect the restaurant’s inclusive approach to dining.

I had a great experience at Otto's. A small, yet carefully crafted menu greets you. I have a dairy allergy and am happy to say that they have common allergies listed on their menu! My wife and I got the fish and chips, duck dish, tuna appetizer, and their wings. Everything was extremely well cooked, and excellently seasoned. My wings used a dry rub and were well seasoned with bold flavors and perfectly fried. My fish, delicate, crispy, and flaky - I will be haunted by the memory of that fish. The shoe string fries were good. My wife seemed pleased by her dishes as well, but I couldn't try to give an explanation. Good work Otto's!

Ottos inhabits the space that used to be Machina Arts. My partner and I ate dinner here on a pleasant Friday June evening. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. The beer selection is good, covering a wide range of tastes, and the cocktails are inventive and tasty. On a nice night, the sidewalk tables are the place to be. Our server generously provided a dish of water for our pup. We grazed - shared three appetizers and one entree. It was the perfect amount of food. Portions are moderately sized (this ain't Carmines) the focus is on quality, not quantity. The tuna crudo was off the charts fantastic. One of the best dishes I've had anywhere in Keene. The beef hand pies were savory and delicious also. Incredibly tender beef in a surprisingly light pastry package, with some preternaturally delicious mushrooms on the side . The appetizer from the specials menu (pictured here) was a very ambitious octopus thang, with hot pepper and a cucumber-lime sauce. As you can see, like everything we ordered, the presentation was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately the flavor didn't live up to its appearance. It was unbalanced, with the hot pepper taking over. And we both like hot stuff, too. We each ate one tiny slice of pepper, that was enough. The cucumber sauce was nicely tangy, but unfortunately very bitter, I assume from the cucumber. It was as if the chef hadn't tasted the components before assembling the dish, which is unfortunate. Our entree was duck breast with lavender and a nectarine-bourbon sauce and some other stuff. When asked, we specified for it to be cooked medium-rare, and that's exactly how it arrived. Another very beautiful presentation, and very delicious. Prices are on the high end for Keene, but so is the quality. Ottos has been open since January 2025 according to our server. The dining room was very quiet for a Friday night, which was concerning. We hope they are doing OK. You should definitely check them out. They deserve to be rewarded for pushing the boundaries in this corner of New Hampshire. This is creative and adventurous food that would cost you twice as much in Boston or New York, and it's right here in Cheshire county. We will definitely be back.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this rather new restaurant. The food was creative, delicious and timed perfectly. I can't say enough about our experience except maybe that the price was quite a surprise in a good way. We'll definately be back.

My party of 6, including 3 small children, had a delightful meal at Otto's. Every single appetizer and entree was delicious. The portions were generous and quality was top notch. I'm so happy to have found a place in town with fresh oysters! Well crafted cocktails. This will be our new go-to spot for dining out in Keene.

We had Griffin (apologies if my spelling is wrong) as our waiter and he did a great job. It was a group of four of us and all of our first time going there! The food was delicious! Four different entrees and two appetizers and phew they were good! The presentation was nice as well! It was calm and quiet and the perfect place for conversation as there wasn’t so much noise drowning our voices out. Griffin was attentive but not overbearing. He asked the kitchen ingredient questions for me and when he knew I was going to want to change my mind he brought a menu back for me to look again. Even though I was full I HAD to finish my meal because it was so good. I highly recommend this place! It’s worth a visit.

if you’re looking for higher-end more experimental cuisine without the insane price tag, Otto’s is the place to go. They have a consistently changing menu as well as occasional specials that are not worth the miss. My personal favorite is the petite tenderloin, always cooked to perfection. They also always have delicious raw oysters available lunch and dinner. Their Sunday brunch is also incredible. They have a beautiful space with a fully stocked bar, and a quieter dining room with a couple nooks for someone looking for a quieter meal. I will say picky eaters beware as substitutions aren’t typically recommended, and frankly not needed, unless it’s an allergy! (They have an incredible appreciation for those with gluten free, dairy free, or any allergy restrictions…) I highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice date or simply a meal with a higher-end feel!

We had an EXCELLENT dinner this evening at Otto’s! The food was delicious - the salmon was cooked perfectly on a bed of melt in your mouth brussel sprouts, the house ragu made with duck was extremely creamy and flavorful with the perfect amount of spices, the seared chicken served over a white and red potato cake accompanied by a red pepper sauce and roasted cauliflower was a perfect and satisfying combination of flavors. Cheers to the chef and to our kind and attentive server. We will definitely return to this fine restaurant!

We made reservations so there wasn’t a wait. The food and drinks were amazing! My husband who is picky loved it. Great service. Relaxing environment. Was really impressed with the gluten free options especially the desserts. We are looking forward to going back soon. Highly recommend.
